The author of an Engineers Australia report Energy Security for Australia says that this country needs to change its perception of energy from a market based economic viewpoint to a broader, all-encompassing energy policy aligned with national security issues. He cautions that the sooner this happens the better, as Australia is already becoming vulnerable to volatility in the energy supply chain. "Things have changed and we've been sleeping at the wheel while it's been happening," Neil Greet, report author and former Defence Force engineer says.
