摘要

The paper presents an efficient technique suitable for modelling propagation behaviour of ultrashort pulses in lossy nonlinear optical fibres and optical transmission lines. This technique is based on an orthogonal Chebyshev expansion in the time domain which is able to predict time-dependent pulse shape considering arbitrary initial waveform. Comparison with the existing results obtained by other techniques confirms the accuracy of the proposed technique. The efficiency of this technique is demonstrated by its application to a number of nonlinear fibre-based pulse-propagation problems.
