摘要

At the beginning of the twentieth century there was some uncertainty that the charge carriers in metal conductors were electrons. This article describes the work of two Americans, R.C. Tolman and T.D. Stewart, to settle the matter. The article discusses the theory of their method and the practical method used to test the theory.
