DBIA Looks for New President And Fair Project Delivery Laws

Continuity and collaboration are two major issues at the Design Build Institute of America, but one year into a three-year strategic plan, the organization is looking for a new president. Jeffery L. Beard, DBIA president and first staff person at the 10-year-old organization, announced his resignation at DBIA's annual convention Oct. 8-10 in Kissimmee, Fla. Beard will pursue a Ph.D. in integrated project delivery at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he had been teaching design-build courses while heading DBIA. Beard will not cut all ties with the organization. Effective immediately, he will assume part-time duties as manager of research projects at the Foundation for Integrated Services, the research arm of DBIA.
