South Korea's $20-billion New Songdo City, touted as the world's most ambitious private development, has a 305-meter-tall iconic skyscraper as a centerpiece. So does the Dubai Waterfront project. Its proposed tall building might reach 1,000 m, depending on the final, undisclosed height of the Burj Dubai, currently under construction. On a shorter scale, even Milan has big plans for a trio of skyscrapers, each with a slant.
