IG To Review Parsons' Jobs Amid a Pattern of Problems

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has terminated a $99-million contract held by Parsons Corp. to build a prison in Iraq for failure to achieve critical completion dates, resulting in increased cost. The project was more than two years behind schedule and about $25 million over budget, the Corps says. Stuart Bowen, Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, who operates independently, told ENR that he intends to review all of the firm's construction contracts there. But he says government management shortcomings are also to blame.
