Signature Pedestrian Bridge Spans Two States

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, between the cities of Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA, connects hundreds of miles of trails, two cities and two states. This $22-miIlion, signature cable-stayed pedestrian bridge opened to the public on September 28. "This bridge is an architecturally significant addition to the landscape," says George Stowers, project manager with Faithful+Gould, the firm that provided construction-monitoring services for the project and served as project manager for the city of Omaha. "It also symbolizes unity between Nebraska and Iowa as well as Omaha and Council Bluffs."
