Some firms have already begun preparations to handle the significant compliance and regulatory issues that are likely if legislation is passed. As demonstrated by the recent "No Match" program adopted by the Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS), revisions to these documentation processes could create significant obstacles for the $1.2-trillion U.S. construction industry because an estimated 14% of all construction jobs are held by undocumented workers.
