Sept. 14 is the deadline to submit proposals for a New York City competition to develop a residential building containing 275- to 300-sq-ft apartments for one- and two-person households. The city's Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development will soon issue a request for proposals for design, construction and operation of a "micro-unit" rental building on a transit-oriented, city-owned site in Manhattan.
