The subcontractors' insurance management process design by Lillian Mendez for W.E. O'Neil Construction Co. of California (WEO) successfully meets its client/owners additional insured requirements for subcontractors. Through this program, the company has the ability to enter and apply specific owner insurance requirements and policy limits and additional parties required. Mendez uses accounting software to document, monitor and track subcontractor insurance documents as well as utilizes her insurance knowledge to train project staff regarding insurance matters. WEO executives place stringent policies on their project staff to assist Mendez in ensuring that the subs' insurance is in order prior to onsite work. The accounting system implements payment halt codes for expirations of subs' policies. The system provides WEO owners with full assurance that their specific insurance requirements are adhered to with this process by responding to their direct needs.
