For construction companies and brokers, certificates of insurance are a daily task, designed to verify compliance with critical insurance requirements for the benefit of the certificate holder. These certificates were not meant as a vehicle to alter policy language. In late 2009, the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD) released changes to its industry standard ACORD 24 (property) and ACORD 25 (liability) forms that clarified the documents' intent.
