The Changing Role of Insurance in IPD

Because integrated project delivery (IPD) brings all contract participants together to look at a project holistically, it also requires new legal contracts to define the relationship, determine ways to resolve disputes and so on. The insurance industry is coming to realize the way that coverage is arranged may also need to change, particularly the interplay between general and professional liability. An IPD project brings together participants with different insurance brokers, each with their own ideas and working independently to find ways to develop an IPD solution for coverage.
