Pipe Prices Start With Broad Declines in March

Prices for most construction pipe products began the month of March with moderate price declines, according to ENR's 20-city average prices. Prices for reinforced-concrete pipe fell 0.4% this month for 12-in., 36-in. and 48-in. pipe, while prices for 24-in.-dia RCP dropped 0.9% for the month. On average, ENR's 20-city average price for these four products is down 3.1 % from a year ago. Prices for five sizes of PVC sewer and water pipe tracked by ENR all declined this month and are averaging 3.7% below March 2012's level. Bucking the trend, prices for ductile-iron pipe averaged a 0.4% increase this month and are 2.5% above 2012.
