Specialized Crane Lifts and Shifts Heavy Load with Ease

In the Southeast, Deep South Crane & Rigging performed a complex turnkey petrochemical project, proving it is capable of servicing turnarounds with high-capacity cranes in extremely restricted areas. Deep South crews received a reactor vessel weighing 420,000 lbs and measuring 100 ft in length from the ship of origin and transported it via barge to a petrochemical facility up river. Using Goldhofer self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), crews moved the vessel to the final off-loading location, negotiating very tight turns and low pipe racks with minimum clearance. Once to the facility, 500-ton gantries were used to off-load to temporary supports.
