Vacuum Lifting System Facilitates Rapid Utility Road Work

When utility contractor Miller Pipeline, an MVerge Company, was tasked to support utility road work in California, its crews took an unconventional approach with help from a trusted equipment partner. As part of a larger effort for Pacific Gas & Electric, crews needed to lift, place and remove heavy (approximately 2,800 lbs) steel road plates-a task typically left to large excavators and backhoes. Instead, Miller Pipeline crews used the CM 3 compact modular vacuum lifting system from Vacuworx attached to a skid steer. Capable of handling materials up to 6,600 lbs, the patent-pending CM 3 is a first-of-its-kind solution that lets larger skid steers and track loaders lift concrete slabs, steel plates and pipe with ease.
