As part of a plant upgrade, an industrial plant in Norco, La., required the erection of a tall, heavy flare stack and tip within a confined and tightly congested work area. The first section of the flare stack weighs 239,000 lbs and measures 135 ft long, and the second section, while lighter at 114,000 lbs, is longer at 150 ft. The 15,000-lb flare tip measures 12 ft.
