Hospitality construction in the United States is on the rise. According to Lodging Econometrics Senior Vice President JP Ford, as of Q2 2019, the number of hotel construction projects in the United is up 6% year-over-year and the number of rooms is up 9% year-over-year. To this end, there are currently 5,653 projects with 693,207 rooms in the U.S. hotel construction pipeline. New York City has the most, with 166 projects totaling 28,231 rooms.
