Construction VC Firm Unveils $97-Million Funding Round

There has been a rush of venture capital money into the construction technology sector in recent years, and some players already in the space are building out their positions as well. San Francisco-based Brick & Mortar Ventures has been expanding its funding for several construction tech startups in recent years, boosting companies such as ManufactOn, Fieldwire, Serious Labs and Illumagear. Several established construction tech startups, including Plan-Grid and Rhumbix, also got an early boost several years ago from Brick & Mortar Ventures managing director and co-founder Darren Bechtel's early funding. Now, the firm is broadening its reach with a new investment initiative.
