Inspired by the energy biological gene technology, a novel trust approach for computer networks, referred to as BGTA, is proposed. Through building network family map model for real computer networks, users, resources and other network entities are mapped to different family members. And by constructing gene assignment and gene signature, an exclusive and unforgeable gene-certificate is assigned for each family member. Moreover, the identity of network users and devices are verified through analyzing their gene codes. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that BGTA is effective. Thus, it provides a good trust solution to network security.
