2011 FEB 28 - (VerticalNews.com) -- Current study results from the report, 'Arnhybrid biomimetic nanomatrix composed of electrospun polycaprolactone and bioactive peptidernamphiphiles for cardiovascular implants,' have been published. "Current cardiovascularrntherapies are limited by the loss of endothelium, restenosis and thrombosis. The goal of thisrnstudy was to develop a biomimetic hybrid nanomatrix that combined the unique properties ofrnelectrospun polycaprolactone (ePCL) nanofibers with self-assembled peptide amphiphilesrn(PAs). ePCL nanofibers have interconnected nanoporous structures, but are hampered by a lack of surface bioactivity to control cellular behavior," investigators in the United States report.
