Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (NLH) is investing $52.8 million this year throughout the province to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the provincial electricity system. In the past five years, NLH has put $ 179 million in total capital investment into its power supply network. The 2008 capital program is focused on upgrading and replacing aged as well as deteriorated equipment. Nearly $25 million will be invested to repair and replace insulators, poles, and transmission and distribution lines throughout the province.
