OEB Moves To Next Phase In Formulating Storage Rule

With the first phase now complete, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is proceeding to the second stage in formulating a Storage and Transportation Access Rule (STAR) for natural gas in the province.rnBased upon stakeholder comments, the OEB said it has refined the objectives for STAR as follows:rn1. ensure open, fair and non-discriminatory access to transportation services for customers and storage providers;rn2. provide customer protection within the competitive storage market; andrn3. support transparent transportation and storage markets.rnThe OEB said it believes that the proposed STAR should focus on transportation access for customers and storage providers to ensure that all potential users have non-discriminatory availability to these services regardless of the source.
