Bpai Wants To Decide Between Two Nuclear Plant Sites

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) acknowledges receiving a letter from Bruce Power Alberta Inc. (BPAI) asking to withdraw the application to prepare a site for the future construction of a nuclear power plant near Peace River. The Bruce Power LP (BPLP) affiliate application specified a site at Lac Cardinal in the Municipal District ofrnNorthern Lights. Citing consultations with local communities in the Peace River region, BPAI said it had identified another potential site for the nuclear power development. Because BPAI intends to conduct anrninformation session process to aid in deciding between the two sites, the BPLP affiliate advised that it would be able to determine a final potential location by mid-year.
