摘要

Autoantibody against glutamic acid decarboxylase (GADA) is a highly sensitive predictor of insulin-de- pendency in adult diabetic patients as well as yound individuals. A considerable number of diabetics who do not reach the insulin-dependent stage have this antibody. Recently, type 1 diabetes has been thought to be caused by T helper 1 (Th1)-type autoimmunity based on studies in non-obese diabetic mice, but it is still difficult to investigate antigen-specific T-cell function in human type 1 diabetes.
