Altimo Exits MegaFon, IPO On The Horizon

MegaFon shareholders have agreed to a deal that will pay a dividendnof US$5.15bn, and lays the foundation for a dividend payments in thenfuture. Further, shareholders have agreed to restructure their shareholdingsnin a move that sees Altimo sell out, Alisher Usmanov's AFnTelecom take control and TeliaSonera restructure and sell down itsnholdings. Finally, shareholders have agreed to work towards an IPO,nof up to 20% of the company, on the London Stock Exchange. BMInbelieves the resolution of shareholder disputes will benefit decisionnmaking and strategic direction at MegaFon, as well as strengtheningnthe prospects of an IPO.
