Traditionally, the ASME A17.1/CSA B44 handbook has presented a compilation of balloted Standards Committee rationale prepared by the involved technical working committee (s) and support data on which code changes and revisions have been based. Since publication of the code's first edition in 1981, Ed Donoghue has performed yeoman's service to the industry by recording and summarizing evolutional history of the code. The 2004 edition was the first to include coverage of B44.
