New remuneration models for electricity supply from auto- producers: Cost-orientated, including capacity charge, on a private-enterprise basis

Co-operation between industrial autoproducers and the public utilities has a long tradition in Germany. This is particulary the case in combined heat and power generation. In 1993 electricity supplied by third parties contributed with approximately 14% to electricity demand coverage. This is (as in Italy) the next highest proportion in the EU. In 1994 the industry's associations - BDI, VIK and VDEW - agreed upon new remuneration models for electricity supplied by combined heat and power stations and plants on the basis of renewable energies. Additionally, principles agreed upon in 1979 were further developed.%Die stromwirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit zwischen Industriebetrieben mit eigener Stromerzeugung, vor allem in Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung, und öffentlicher Elektrizitätsversorgung hat in Deutschland eine lange Tradition. Einspeisungen Dritter trugen 1992 rd. 14% zur Bedarfsdeckung bei. Dies ist der zweithöchste Anteil in der EU (wie in Italien). Im September 1994 haben die Verbände der Industrie - BDI und VIK - und die VDEW neue Vergütungsmodelle für Stromeinspeisungen aus Anlagen mit Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung und auf Basis erneuerbarer Energien vereinbart und die 1979 vereinbarten Grundsätze darüber hinaus weiter entwickelt.
