Nowadays, digital protection devices for HV and MV networks are well accepted due to their reliability. In addition to the integration of protection functions control tasks are covered by a new range of combined protection and control devices. These devices often named as » One-Box Solutions « are applicable to distribution substations. Economic advantages during planning, commissioning, test, logistics and training are driving forces of their application. A new generation of stand-alone protection, control and One-Box devices from Alstom with a unique PC based setting and operating program is covering all requirements in substation automation on bay level. Well defined communication interfaces, based on industrial and international standards, are supporting easy integration of these devices in different control systems.%In die digitale Netzschutzeinrichtungen werden zunehmend auch Funktionen der Steuerungstechnik integriert. Dies wird durch die leistungsfähigen Technologien ermöglicht. Der Anwendungsbereich liegt derzeit in Mittelspannungs- und einfachen Hochspannungsanlagen von Verteilungsnetzen.
