Rs.1,500-core DoP plans to modernize rural offices project to modernise rural post offices

The Department of Post (DoP) has floated a tender for supply of handheld devices to 1,30,000 post offices located in rural area as part of its modernization project. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,500 crore. Two leading IT companies - Wipro and HCL Infosystems - have qualified for technical bids for supplying the handheld devices to Department of Posts.
