Indian Railways launch 'Go India' smart card

Indian Railways on March 3rd launched 'Go-India' smart card scheme on a pilot basis. The scheme will be applicable for two sectors; New Delhi-Mumbai and New Delhi-Howrah. The Go-India smart card currently enables railway passengers to pay for reserved and unreserved tickets that can be used at ticket counters. The smart card can be used at Unreserved Ticketing System or Passenger Reservation System counters and also at Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) now in New Delhi-Mumbai and New Delhi-Howrah.
