摘要

We propose a method to restore images degraded by additive noise by threshold decomposition filtering. The background regions in many natural images can be inter- preted as concentration of pixels having amplitudes close to certain constant values. These concentrations of pixels are observed as the peaks in a histogram. In this paper, we present a numerical algorithm to determine whether a two- channel filter bank for threshold decomposition is effec- tively applied to images having one histogram peak, in particular.
