The BMR453 dc/dc converter offers 400-W output power, 33-A output current, ±2% accuracy, and 96% efficiency. A traditional quarter-brick dc/dc converter has 300 W and ±2% output accuracy, while an intermediate bus converter (IBC) provides up to 377 W with +4%/-9% output accuracy. The converter has an input voltage range of 36 to 75 V, and a variable output voltage from 8.5 to 13.5 V. Its load regulation allows it to be used as an IBC where it directly power devices such as hard drives that cannot tolerate a wide variation in bus voltage. The converter meets the insulation requirements of EN60950 and features remote sense, configurable protections (overtempera-ture, overcurrent, and overvoltage), switching frequency synchronization, PMBus interface, power good, and power management programmability.
