Marcus Ryle: For about 10 years prior to starting the Line 6 brand, we were a small engineering consulting company that developed a number of different audio products for other manufacturers, including digital audio recorders, synthesizers, drum machines, and effects processors. A theme throughout the products we developed was to use technology to create tools that inspire music creation. In 1996, it seemed that guitar players in particular were being left behind in the digital technology revolution, and Line 6 was born.
