摘要

The most commonly used batteries in such applications are size AA and AAA alkaline cells. Used in a single cell configuration the battery voltage is between 0.9 and 1.BV, while the required supply voltage for typical digital circuits is a minimum 1.8V and, at least in the 3V range, if any precision analogue circuitry is also involved. The battery power interface must therefore be a very small, yet highly efficient DC-DC converter, capable of generating output voltages higher than the input. Typical DC-DC converter circuits for these requirements are synchronous boost converters, such as the TPS61070 from Texas Instruments (see figure 1 ).
