The newspaper cutting arrived on my desk without preamble. It was a Photostat from the Chichester Observer dated 3 April 1986 and was rather undistinguished, so quite why it caught my eye remains a mystery. But its contents were interesting. The report covered a hard-hitting address to 50 members of the Engineering Industries' Association. The speaker was the now-deceased Sir Monty Finniston.
