Windfall for BHEL'S business allies and developers who are set to get fiscal sops and incentives

In what could emerge as a windfall for Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), the Government is looking at a proposal to remove some major conditions on developers who want to avail themselves of fiscal sops for building mega power projects. Under the policy governing mega power projects, State-run and private players have to resort to international competitive bidding while awarding contracts to suppliers of equipment such as boilers and turbines for obtaining fiscal sops.
