Regulatory Policy framework for Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources in Indian Power Sector

India is blessed with a huge potential of renewable generation option. So it is concluded that Progressive policy-making has the greatest impact on our renewable energy future. This paper has gathered what is believed to be the most effective government policies in India to promote renewable energy technologies. Studies show there is enough renewable generation potential capacity on each continent to meet the not only Indian energy need but also capable to meet the whole world energy needs without the use of fossil fuels. This can be achieved through consistent efforts in technology, policy making and R&D in the field of renewable development. In the past decade, technology costs have dropped dramatically - yet the key driver for getting renewable onto the grid has been forward-thinking policy-making at the local, state and federal levels.
