L&t And Atomic Energy Of Canada Sign Pact For Candu Reactor

Larsen and Toubro and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd (AECL) have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in Advanced CANDU Reactor ACR1000. The ACR1000 is AECL's generation III-plus reactor design, which uses the proven concept of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR). The two have come together to develop a competitive cost model for the ACR1000. On completion of the indicative cost/ scope model, AECL and L&T will hold discussions to develop nuclear power plants in India on EPC basis.
