摘要

Low voltage impulse test assess the winding insulation of a power transform after assembly. This method relies on comparison of recorded neutral current waveforms. Any shift in the recordedmeansrnconfirns the fault in the winding. The existing transfer function method lacks sensitivity for, if there is a miner tattlt. Never technique using wavelet transform is developed and the results are shown tornassess tne condition of winding insulaton of a Generator Transformer of known rating. The inherentrnnoise in the recorded neutral current was isolated using Symlet wavelet which otherwise could have lead to misinterpretation of the data. The de-noised signals vere analyzed further using Shannon wavelet for identification of fault in the winding.
