Siemens builds 9000 HP propulsion system to boost Indian Rlys' electrification

Siemens is equipping Indian Railways 9000HP electric locomotive with the first indigenously-designed and produced integrated propulsion system and steel tank transformer. The propulsion equipment is completely designed, built and manufactured in India. The highpower equipment will improve haulage capabilities, average speed and utilisation of rolling stock assets.
