摘要

When we look back to the bad old days of the late noughties, the growth and the optimism that the industry has experienced over the last few years seems a world away from those seemingly bleak times. However, as the saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same and, if sleepless nights are still being had, then the chances are that the catalyst for that is the same as it was five to six years ago. Legislation, energy efficiency and the burgeoning skills gap were all still high on the agenda in 2014, as David Lewis of Schneider Electric commented, "The energy world continues to change with new commitments from China and the US, however, the UK still has the target of halving the UK's carbon emissions by 2025. Government initiatives are focusing on achieving more whilst using less with energy efficiency at the centre of the agenda.
