The Game Developer Conference, which took place in March in San Jose, CA, is frequently the occasion of major PC-graphics-chip unveilings, and this year was no exception. Events beyond the exhibitors' control, however, somewhat diminished their "shine." Primary among those events was the fact that Intel delayed by a quarter the production of its Camino chip set for Advanced Graphics Port (AGP) 43 systems. Despite that delay, ATI Technologies, Matrox, and Nvidia all announced AGP 43 support as well as 32-Mbyte frame-buffer capability in their new chips.
