Reducing time to market for an ASIC-design flow is an easy concept to embrace, but the means for achieving it can be challenging. After some thought, you soon realize that achieving meaningful improvement means evaluating your entire design flow, methodologies, and design tools. Further analysis reveals that a given flow and methodology are often intricately entwined, and the only way to make any real improvement is to consider new tools that bring new flows and methodologies.
