VCXOs (voltage-controlled crystal oscillators) are key elements in clock and data recovery, as well as synchronization, but they must balance conflicting goals of stability and low jitter with the need for fast capture. The Model H3281 VCXO from MF Electronics achieves these goals with maximum peak-to-peak jitter of 20 psec and pull of at least ±75 ppm using a 0.5 to 4.5V control voltage.
