The number of complex designs that require more than one engineer for successful completion is growing every day. More than half of all designs-whether they result in pc boards, FPGAs, or ICs-need a number of engineers working together to meet the products' requirements and ever-shortening development schedules. When deciding to implement a new product, companies face technical, financial, and logistical challenges. The fierce competition in the electronics industry demands that a company must develop complex products in the most cost-effective manner. Frequently, this situation means using resources in different parts of the world, various skills, and different development methods.
