Wireless networking based on the IEEE 802,11 standards is poised for substantial growth in both the numbers of units and the range of their applications. The mobility inherent in wireless networks, however, creates interactions between the physical and the protocol layers that—compared with wired networks— greatly increase the complexity and number of tests necessary to verify a design. Fortunately, tools are becom-ing available to streamline the process.
