The results of 3D computer simulation of three designs double-gap cavities for a double-barrel X-band klystron, calculated on the output CW level of 25 kW are presented. A comparison of the studied double-gap cavities parameters showed that the largest value of the criterion, taking into account a complex of electrodynamic, electronic and mass-dimensional parameters, has a cavity model with two drift tubes excited at 2π mode. A drift tubes are placed each in its own cylindrical cavity body, both partial cavity body are part of the common cylindrical resonance volume.
