SMART METER SURGE

In its "Utility-Scale Smart Meter Deployments, Plans & Proposals," the Institute for Electric Efficiency (iee) says that Edison Electric Institute member companies plan to have installed more than 56 million smart meters in the next decade. In comparison to the next most recent iee report (May 2009), this is a 27-percent increase in planned smart meter deployments.
