Energy companies prioritize developing their talent pipeline and creating successful diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives that help to build a stronger workforce. Their efforts were front and center at the 14th Annual Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) Summit in Arlington, VA. CEWD leaders and energy company human resources professionals were joined by outside experts for discussions about what companies are doing now and can expect in the future. Strategic issues affecting all employers—not only energy companies—received significant attention, including the needs and expectations of new generations of workers; the ongoing need to foster greater D&I; and the growing role of automation in the workplace.
