摘要

Automotive network designers have to be aware that there is an important influence from the network topology layout on system safety. Availability and reliability of communication under automotive constraints need an application specific optimization. For this purpose, the new FlexRay physical layer technology offers solid potential. Starting with a very simple network example, a reliable and sophisticated solution is developed step by step in this article with a few network configuration variants examined. FlexRay brings along an innovative set of functional and safety features and can create a sophisticated level of automotive system safety.
